Obituary for Fredrick Austin Tadlock

Fredrick Austin Tadlock, of La Vernia, Texas, passed away in San Antonio, Texas on October 7, 2018 at the age of 87. Fredrick was born on July 18, 1931 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Austin Tadlock (Robbie) and Katherine May (Radeker) Tadlock (Harry Ahrens). Fred was preceded in death by his parents and step parents; daughter Tamara “Tammy” Tadlock; son in-law David Beabey, daughter in-law Denise Tadlock; brothers Don Tadlock and Pat Ahrens; sister Patsy Carroll and her husband Herb.

Fred was a true patriot and served his country in the Korean War as a Sgt. First Class. He also served as an Honor Guard in Hot Springs Village Arkansas at the VFW Post. He was an engineer at Shell Oil & Gas Co. retired after 35 years.

Fred is survived by his devoted wife of 26 years, Clemie Janis (Sofge) Tadlock. He and Janis enjoyed traveling to many places across the United States and belonged to the Hot Springs Village RV Club. They both loved to dance, especially country & western, the polka and square dancing and belonged to Hot Springs Village Square Dance Club. He enjoyed many hours spent with friends and family and all who knew him knew he played a mean game of cards and dominos.

Light of Fred’s life were his children and grandchildren. He is also survived by his children Theresa Beabey, Steven Tadlock, Timothy “Tim” Tadlock (Linda), Helen Beabey (Michael), Edward “Ted” Tadlock (Cyndie Bowman), George Worden (Aleta), and David Worden (Amanda); Grandchildren Ceja, Chris, Tino (Stacy), Jonathan, Elijah, Matthew, Serenity, Zachary, Nicholas, Amber, Stacy (Jason), Nicc (Aleigha), Bradly (Veronica), Kody (Julie Ann) and Adam, as well as his brother John Ahrens (Frances), sister Donna Davis (Charlie), sister in-law Jodi Ahrens as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.

Fred was a faithful member of the Catholic Church and had a personal relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Fred will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, but we find comfort in the knowledge that he is with the Lord.
