Kane Paul Mattke, 57 of La Vernia, Texas passed away on September 20, 2018 at home in La Vernia, Texas. Kane was born on September 5, 1961 in Seguin, Texas, the only son of Paul E. Mattke, Jr. and Sandra Kay (Strey) Mattke. He married Tracy Thompson in La Vernia on June 8, 1991. Kane was a much loved, active member of his community and enjoyed a career with and retired from TXDOT as an inspector. He was currently employed with H.W. Lochner, Inc as Chief Inspector. Kane is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Paul R. and Rolene Mattke, and maternal grandparents, Elton and Ruby Strey. He will be dearly missed by loving wife of 27 years, Tracy Mattke; children, Michael Paul Mattke and Christopher James Mattke (Aspyn); grandson, Kaiden James Mattke; parents, Paul Jr. and Sandra Mattke; mother-in-law, Judith Hunt; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Renae Bentley and family, Allen Hunt and family, and Henry Hunt. Kane also leaves behind many loving friends. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia, Texas.

Burial will follow at Christ Lutheran of Elm Creek Cemetery in Seguin. Pastor Bonnie Claycomb will be officiant of the service.
