Richard (Rickey) Lee Neill
Rickey Lee Neill went to be with the Lord on August 29, 2019. Rickey was born on July 11,1955 to the late Melvin and Shirley Neill.
Rickey is survived by his loving wife, Susan Neill; son, Lance Neill (Robin); daughter, Macie Freabe (Chris); grandsons, Richard Lee Neill II, Lawson Lewis Neill, and Owen Neill Freabe; sister, Janet Jay (Tim); uncle, Warren Neill; and numerous aunts and cousins.
Rickey loved teaching Ag Science and working with his students in the Ag shop, with their livestock projects, and training for leadership contests. He enjoyed raising durocs and watching his children, Lance and Macie, show hogs and lambs throughout their school years. Rickey’s pride and joy were his grandsons; Lee, Lawson, and Owen. He loved teaching his boys how to fish and garden, and could not wait until they were old enough to show hogs. He loved his wife of 41 years, Susan, so much, she was his angel on Earth. Even though he complained about her love of barrel racing sometimes, he was always her biggest fan. Rickey looked forward to the livestock shows every year so he could visit his friends from all over the state. He was a fighter and kept the best attitude about his diagnosis the entire time. Rickey knew where he was going when he left us and he was always ready to meet his lord and see his parents again.
Visitation will be Monday, September 2, 2019, 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Finch Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be Tuesday, September 3, 2019, at 10:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Stockdale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Rickey’s name to the Stockdale FFA.
